Genese Grill

Genese Grill is the author of The World as Metaphor in Robert Musil’s The Man without Qualities: Possibility as Reality (Camden House, 2012) and the translator of a collection of Musil’s short prose, Thought Flights (Contra Mundum Press, 2015). The recipient of the Missouri Review’s 2016 Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize for nonfiction, as well as grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Austrian Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Education, Grill studied painting at Cooper Union and Germanic Literatures and Languages at the City University of New York Graduate Center. She recently completed a book of essays, “Portals: On the Spirit in Matter.”
