Vaughn Sills’s photographs have been gathered in two books, Places for the Spirit: Traditional African American Gardens (Trinity University Press, 2010) and One Family (University of Georgia Press, 2001). Her work has been featured at the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, DC, and elsewhere across the country. Her portfolio “Beyond Words” in our Summer 2004 issue won a Gold award for Best Photography from the Magazine Association of the Southeast. Sills has an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.
