Simone Delerme

Simone Delerme is the McMullan Associate Professor of Southern Studies and Anthropology at the University of Mississippi. She specializes in migration to the U.S. South, with interests in race relations, integration and incorporation, and community development. The research for her first book, Latino Orlando: Suburban Transformation and Racial Conflict (University Press of Florida, 2020), focuses on Puerto Rican migration to Orlando, Florida, and the social class distinctions and racialization processes that created divergent experiences in Southern communities.
