Esperanza Hope Snyder

Esperanza Hope Snyder was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and has lived in Tuscany, Madrid, and West Virginia. Her poems and translations have appeared in Blackbird, The Gettysburg Review, The Kenyon Review, International Poetry Review, Poetry Northwest, The Southern Review, and other journals. Honors include the Donald Everett Axinn Award in Poetry for Bread Loaf and poetry fellowships for The Gettysburg Review and The Kenyon Review. Assistant director of Bread Loaf in Sicily and co-coordinator of the Lorca Prize, Snyder is the author of a poetry collection, Esperanza and Hope (Sheep Meadow Press, 2018). Her play, The Back Room, is being adapted into film.
