Listening to Gershwin

Anne Goldman’s “Darwin and Dickinson among the Heliotropes” is a companion piece to a series of essays on wind (air), stone (earth), and deep-sea jellyfish (water) published in the Southwest Review. Her most recent essay in The Georgia Review, “Travels with Jane Eyre” (Fall 2014), was listed as a “notable” in both Best American Essays 2015 and Best American Travel Writing 2015. She teaches American literature and creative nonfiction at Sonoma State University and is currently at work on a novel.
